Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation

Enhance your curves. Restore your confidence.
Breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures—designed to increase the size, improve the shape, and restore the fullness of your breasts. Whether your goal is to achieve a more balanced silhouette, reclaim your pre-pregnancy figure, or simply feel more confident in your own skin, breast augmentation can help you feel like your best self.

Is Breast Augmentation Right for You?

Breast augmentation may be right for you if you:

  • Feel your breasts are too small or disproportionate to your body
  • Have lost volume after pregnancy, weight loss, or aging
  • Wish to correct asymmetry between your breasts
  • Want to improve confidence in clothes, swimsuits, or daily life

Implants come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and materials, and we’ll work with you to choose the option that fits your body and goals best.

What to Expect

Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammaplasty, is a surgical procedure designed to increase the size and improve the shape of the breasts using implants. The primary goals of breast augmentation are to enhance breast size and fullness, improve breast symmetry, and help women achieve their desired breast shape and overall body proportions.

Ideal candidates for breast augmentation include women who desire larger breasts, have noticed a loss of breast volume after pregnancy or breastfeeding, have naturally asymmetrical breasts, or are seeking breast reconstruction after mastectomy. Women considering this procedure should be in good overall health, have realistic expectations about the outcome, and be emotionally prepared for the surgery and recovery process.

There are various types of breast implants available, each with its own characteristics. The two main types of implant filling materials are saline and silicone. Saline implants are filled with sterile saltwater, while silicone implants are filled with silicone gel, which many women find feels more like natural breast tissue. Implants also come in different shell textures, either smooth or textured, and various shapes, including round and teardrop (shaped) options. The choice of implant type, size, shape, and texture will be discussed in detail with the surgeon based on the patient's individual anatomy and aesthetic goals.

Breast implants can be placed through different incision options, including the inframammary incision (under the breast), the periareolar incision (around the nipple), and the transaxillary incision (in the armpit). The placement of the implant can be either subglandular (under the breast tissue) or submuscular (under the chest muscle). The surgeon will recommend the most appropriate incision and placement based on factors such as implant type, size, and the patient's anatomy.

The recovery process after breast augmentation involves some pain, swelling, and bruising. Pain medication will be prescribed to manage discomfort. Patients are typically advised to avoid strenuous activities and heavy lifting for several weeks to allow for proper healing. Support bras are usually recommended to help support the breasts during the recovery period. While some initial changes in breast size and shape will be noticeable immediately after surgery, the final results will gradually become more apparent as swelling subsides over several weeks to months.

The benefits of breast augmentation can include increased breast size and fullness, improved breast shape and symmetry, enhanced body proportions, and increased self-confidence. As with any surgical procedure, breast augmentation carries potential risks and complications, including implant rupture, capsular contracture, infection, and changes in nipple sensation. These risks will be thoroughly discussed with the patient during the consultation process.
